Goodwe GW100KHT AFCI
The GoodWe GW100KHT AFCI is a three-phase grid inverter for commercial and industrial PV systems with a high number of strings. With a rated AC output of 100kW and a maximum DC input voltage of 1100V, it is suitable for long string lengths and high generator capacities. Ten MPP trackers enable flexible design for complex roof geometries or different module arrays. The European efficiency of 98.3% reduces conversion losses during continuous operation. Integrated AFCI arc-fault detection increases safety on the DC side, particularly in large generator fields. The IP66 enclosure allows outdoor installation without additional protective measures. The inverter complies with the requirements of VDE‑AR‑N‑4110:2018‑11 for grid-parallel operation in medium-voltage environments.
TechnologyPower conversion is based on a transformerless three-phase topology with high efficiency, designed for high continuous power output in commercial applications. Ten independently controlled MPP trackers allow precise adaptation to different module strings, minimizing yield losses due to partial shading or differing orientations. The integrated AFCI function continuously monitors DC currents and detects series arc faults at an early stage. An integrated DC load break switch facilitates maintenance and service work by allowing the generator to be safely de-energized. Design in accordance with VDE‑AR‑N‑4110 ensures conformity for modern grid connection points.
Relevant performance features- Rated AC power of 100kW enables use in large rooftop and ground-mounted systems.
- Maximum DC input voltage of 1100V supports long strings and reduces cabling effort.
- Ten MPP trackers for flexible generator configuration in complex system layouts.
- European efficiency of 98.3% for efficient continuous operation under real load profiles.
ConnectivityThe inverter offers several integrated communication interfaces for system monitoring and integration. WLAN and Bluetooth enable local commissioning and service access without additional hardware. RS485 and PLC allow connection to higher-level monitoring systems, external data loggers, or plant controllers in larger installations. These interfaces support stable data transmission even over longer distances, as commonly required in commercial PV fields. Thanks to the multiple interfaces, the communication concept can be adapted to project-specific requirements, such as combining different inverters or integration into energy management systems.
Interfaces in system context- WLAN and Bluetooth for fast commissioning and on-site maintenance.
- RS485 for robust serial communication with monitoring and control systems.
- PLC for data transmission via existing AC lines in large installations.
WarrantyThe inverter is supplied with a standard manufacturer’s warranty of five years. For long-term projects, the warranty can optionally be extended to up to 20years, which is particularly relevant for commercial systems with long operating periods. Warranty conditions are regulated on a country-specific basis, taking regional grid and service requirements into account. For EPCs and operators, an extended warranty increases planning reliability with regard to service costs and availability over the entire system life cycle.
SustainabilityThe high European efficiency reduces electrical losses over the entire operating period and thus lowers the specific energy demand of the power electronics. The transformerless design reduces material usage and weight compared to traditional transformer concepts. The long optional warranty period and the robust design for outdoor use extend the service life, further reducing resource consumption per kilowatt-hour generated. The ability to utilize high DC voltages also reduces copper requirements in string cabling.
QualityThe IP66 enclosure reliably protects the internal power electronics against dust and powerful water jets and allows direct outdoor installation. The mechanical design is intended for continuous use in commercial environments. With a device weight of around 89kg and compact dimensions relative to its output, installation on suitable wall or mounting systems is feasible. Integrated protection functions such as AFCI and a DC load break switch contribute to operational safety and compliance with current standards for grid-parallel operation.
Relevant quality features- Protection class IP66 for long-term outdoor use without additional enclosures.
- Integrated safety functions such as AFCI and DC load break switch.
- Compliance with VDE‑AR‑N‑4110 for professional grid connections.
ExpandabilityThanks to the high DC voltage capability and the large number of MPP trackers, the inverter can be flexibly integrated into systems with future expansion stages. Additional module arrays can be distributed across free trackers or existing strings can be adjusted, provided the electrical limit values are observed. The open communication interfaces facilitate later integration into higher-level control systems or combination with additional inverters of the same power class in plant concepts. This makes the device suitable for scalable system designs in commercial environments.
