Description

The Fenecon Home 20kW (FEH030) is a three-phase hybrid inverter for high-performance PV storage solutions in upscale residential buildings as well as in smaller commercial and project applications. With two MPP trackers, an AC rated power of 20kVA, and a maximum DC input voltage of 1,000V, the device is suitable for PV generators up to around 30kWp. The hybrid topology enables direct coupling of the PV generator, high-voltage battery system, and grid connection point. In combination with the integrated FENECON Energy Management System (FEMS), the inverter supports grid-supportive operating strategies, self-consumption optimization, and a full-featured three-phase backup power concept including black start capability. The compact design, IP66 protection rating, and wide operating temperature range facilitate installation even under demanding environmental conditions.

  • TechnologieTechnologyTechnologically, the Fenecon Home 20kW is based on a non-isolated hybrid inverter topology with direct DC coupling of the PV generator and battery. Two independent MPP trackers, each with two MC4 inputs, enable flexible string configuration for different roof orientations. The maximum DC input voltage of 1,000V and an MPP voltage range from 200 to 850V support modern high-performance modules. On the AC side, the inverter provides up to 20kVA three-phase, up to 22kVA for short periods, and allows both feed-in and consumption operation within a hybrid overall system. An integrated Type2 DC surge protection device increases electrical operational safety.

    Electrical Design
    • Two MPP trackers with two DC inputs each enable differentiated string routing in complex generator fields
    • DC rated power above 20kW allows moderate oversizing for better utilization of inverter capacity
    • Three-phase AC connection for symmetrical grid feed-in and stable backup power supply
    • Integrated Type2 DC SPD reduces risks from transient overvoltages
  • KonnektivitätConnectivitySystem communication is primarily carried out via Ethernet between the inverter, the FEMS box, and external networks. This enables stable integration into overarching energy and monitoring structures. In addition, RS485 interfaces are available, for example for connecting smart meters or battery subsystems. Energy management itself is implemented locally via FEMS and does not rely on a permanent cloud connection. This architecture increases operational reliability and reduces dependencies on external services, which is particularly relevant for grid-supportive applications and island operation functions.

    Interfaces & Monitoring
    • Ethernet connection for FEMS, monitoring, and integration into local networks
    • RS485 interfaces for communication with meters and battery systems
    • Local energy management without mandatory cloud dependency
    • Support for grid-supportive control and regulation functions via FEMS
  • GarantieWarrantyThe Fenecon Home 20kW comes with a standard product warranty of 10years on the inverter. This covers material and manufacturing defects under the intended conditions of use. The warranty period is designed for professional use in stationary PV and storage systems and provides a reliable basis for long-term project and service planning. Extended warranty or service concepts are possible on a system basis but are not part of the standard scope of delivery.
  • NachhaltigkeitSustainabilityThe inverter is designed for operation with lithium iron phosphate battery systems, which are characterized by high cycle stability and the avoidance of critical materials such as cobalt. In combination with FEMS, the system enables an optimized self-consumption strategy, time-variable grid usage, and the integration of additional sectors such as electromobility or heat. The high conversion efficiency of up to 98% reduces conversion losses and improves the overall energy balance of the system over its entire life cycle.

    System Efficiency & Resource Use
    • High efficiency minimizes electrical losses during continuous operation
    • Optimized battery utilization through intelligent energy management
    • Designed for long-lasting high-voltage storage technology
    • Support for grid-supportive operating modes to relieve infrastructure
  • QualitätQualityThe mechanical and electrical design of the Fenecon Home 20kW is intended for continuous operation under demanding conditions. With an IP66 protection rating, the enclosure is completely dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets, making semi-outdoor or technical ancillary rooms suitable installation locations. The device operates over a wide temperature range from –35°C to +60°C and uses adaptive fan cooling for thermal stabilization. Dimensions of 520×660×220mm and a weight of around 48kg enable compact wall mounting with clearly defined mounting points.

    Mechanics & Environmental Conditions
    • IP66 enclosure for increased resistance to environmental influences
    • Wide operating temperature range for flexible site selection
    • Compact design despite high power density
    • Active cooling to ensure stable power output
  • ErweiterbarkeitExpandabilityThe Fenecon Home 20kW is part of a modular overall system and can be combined with various Fenecon battery towers and expansion boxes. The AC and DC design allows both subsequent expansion of storage capacity and functional additions via FEMS apps. This enables the system to be gradually adapted to increasing load profiles, additional consumers, or new regulatory requirements without having to replace the inverter itself.

    System Scaling
    • Subsequent expansion of battery capacity possible
    • Functional upgrades via software apps in the FEMS environment
    • Compatibility with additional Fenecon system components
    • Adaptation to future consumers and operating strategies
