Description
The Huawei SUN2000-5K-MAP0 is a three-phase hybrid inverter for demanding grid-connected and storage-integrated PV systems with an output range of up to 5kW AC. Two independent MPP trackers enable flexible string design up to 9kWp with a maximum input voltage of 1,100V. With 98.4% maximum efficiency and 97.5% European efficiency, it is designed for high yields in typical rooftop systems. The integrated AFCI arc fault detection, DC and AC surge protection typeII, as well as asymmetric load capability up to 100% per phase make the device technically robust for current grid requirements. Via the MAP0 platform, the inverter is both battery-compatible and backup-capable, integrating seamlessly into scalable Huawei system architectures.
TechnologyThe inverter topology is based on a transformerless, three-phase design with two independent MPP trackers, each designed for up to 16A input current and 22A short-circuit current. The MPPT operating range from 160to1,000V allows long strings and reduces DC losses at higher system voltages. Permissible DC oversizing up to 9,000Wp supports yield-optimized design for east/west roofs or partially shaded generator fields. The maximum apparent power of 5,500VA enables short-term overloads above nominal power, which is particularly relevant for dynamic load profiles.
Electrical characteristics- Two MPP trackers with one string per tracker for separate generator orientations
- DC input voltage up to 1,100V to reduce line losses
- European efficiency 97.5% for realistic yield assessment
ConnectivityA modular communication architecture is available for integration and operation. RS485 is used to connect smart meters, battery systems, or cascades, while WLAN and Ethernet via optional smart dongles enable monitoring in FusionSolar portals. Bidirectional communication allows grid-side specifications such as active power limitation, reactive power control, and ripple control receiver integration. This enables the inverter to be integrated into dynamic grid connection scenarios and energy management systems in a compliant manner.
Interfaces & Monitoring- RS485 for smart meters, SmartGuard, and battery systems
- WLAN or Ethernet via smart dongle for remote monitoring
- Support for grid-relevant control and regulation commands
WarrantyThe SUN2000‑5K‑MAP0 is supplied with a manufacturer’s standard warranty of 10years. This covers material and manufacturing defects during intended operation and is designed for professional use in PV systems. The warranty conditions are tailored for long service life and continuous grid operation and can be extended depending on the project. This is particularly relevant for economic evaluations and service concepts in multi-year system operation models.
Warranty scope- 10 years manufacturer warranty from commissioning
SustainabilityThe high conversion efficiency reduces system-related energy losses over the entire service life. The fanless, natural convection cooling reduces self-consumption and avoids maintenance-intensive wear parts. By supporting energy storage and self-consumption optimization, the inverter contributes to reducing grid-based energy consumption. The robust design for operating temperatures from –25to+60°C enables long-lasting operation even under demanding environmental conditions.
Resource efficiency- High efficiency reduces conversion losses
- Fanless cooling concept without maintenance-intensive components
QualityThe enclosure with IP66 protection rating allows outdoor installation. Extensive protection functions such as AFCI arc fault detection, DC and AC surge protection typeII, insulation monitoring, as well as temperature monitoring of DC connectors increase operational safety. Support for asymmetric loads up to 100% per phase is particularly relevant in grids with unbalanced consumers and reduces external balancing measures.
Operational safety- IP66 for outdoor installation and harsh environments
- AFCI and connector temperature monitoring
- Asymmetric load capability up to 100% per phase
ExpandabilityThe inverter is fully compatible with the high-voltage battery systems LUNA2000‑S0 and S1 in the voltage range from 600to980V. In combination with SmartGuard systems, a three-phase backup power supply with switching times under 20ms can be realized. Battery charging power up to 12kW and discharging power up to 5.5kW enable flexible energy strategies and later system expansions without replacing the inverter. This prepares the SUN2000‑5K‑MAP0 for future storage and backup requirements.
System expansion- Compatible with LUNA2000 high-voltage storage systems
- Backup operation via SmartGuard systems
- High charging and discharging capacities for flexible design
