Description
The Huawei SUN2000‑6KTL‑M1 is a three-phase hybrid string inverter for grid-connected PV systems in the residential and small commercial sector. With 6kVA AC nominal power, two MPP trackers, and a maximum DC voltage of 1,100V, the device enables flexible string designs even with long string lengths. The hybrid topology allows direct connection of high-voltage storage systems from the Huawei LUNA series and integration into backup concepts via SmartGuard components. The passive cooling and IP65 protection rating support outdoor use. For operation and commissioning, the inverter is designed for the FusionSolar platform and can be integrated into various monitoring and energy management setups via optional communication dongles.
TechnologyTechnologically, the SUN2000‑6KTL‑M1 is based on a transformerless, three-phase hybrid architecture with two independently operating MPP trackers. This design allows separate control of differently oriented or shaded module fields. The DC input side is designed for high system voltages up to 1,100V, which reduces cable losses and provides planning flexibility in string dimensioning. The integrated AFCI function detects arc faults on the string level using software support, thereby increasing electrical safety, especially for rooftop systems.
Core electrical functions- Two MPP trackers allow separate performance optimization for different generator orientations
- Transformerless design reduces conversion losses and device weight
- AI-based arc fault detection increases protection against DC faults
- Designed for 1,100V DC simplifies long string concepts
ConnectivityFor communication and monitoring, the inverter provides an RS485 interface as standard, particularly for connecting smart meters and energy management components. Network-based communication is realized via optional smart dongles that support WLAN, Fast Ethernet, or mobile communication (4G). This allows the device to be integrated into both local network structures and location-independent monitoring setups. Commissioning and ongoing operational monitoring are carried out via the FusionSolar app or the associated portal, enabling remote diagnostics and parametric adjustments.
Communication options- RS485 for smart meters and system components
- WLAN and Ethernet can be implemented via optional smart dongle
- 4G connectivity for sites without local network infrastructure
- Integration into FusionSolar for monitoring and service
WarrantyThe Huawei SUN2000‑6KTL‑M1 is covered by the manufacturer’s standard warranty for string inverters of this series. The warranty structure is designed for use in continuously operated PV systems and takes typical stresses from thermal cycles and grid influences into account. For project planners and operators, it is relevant that warranty processing, firmware support, and spare parts concepts are centrally organized by Huawei and remain integrable into existing service processes.
Warranty classification- Standard manufacturer warranty according to product class
- Designed for continuous operation in grid-connected PV systems
- Centrally organized service and support process
- Firmware maintenance as part of the system concept
SustainabilityWith the M1 series, Huawei pursues a resource-efficient approach, reflected in its compact design, low device weight, and optimized packaging. Passive cooling without fans reduces maintenance-related wear parts and lowers internal energy consumption during operation. In addition, Huawei relies on fiber-based packaging materials and global recycling programs for electronic components, reducing the environmental footprint over the product lifecycle. For projects with sustainability requirements, the inverter can therefore be easily integrated into corresponding concepts.
Sustainability aspects- Passively cooled design reduces self-consumption and maintenance effort
- Compact design lowers material and transport requirements
- Fiber-based packaging instead of plastic
- Established recycling programs for electronic components
QualityWith IP65 protection rating, the SUN2000‑6KTL‑M1 is suitable for indoor and protected outdoor use and is protected against dust and water jets. The robust housing and natural convection contribute to a stable thermal design. The electrical design with integrated surge protection functions and AFCI complies with the requirements of modern grid connection guidelines. With a low weight of around 17kg, one-person installation is possible, simplifying installation practice on-site.
Design features- IP65 housing for flexible installation locations
- Passive cooling without moving parts
- Integrated protection functions on DC and AC side
- Low weight supports efficient installation
ExpandabilityThe inverter is designed to be “battery-ready” and supports direct connection of high-voltage storage systems from the Huawei LUNA series. In combination with SmartGuard backup boxes, backup or emergency power concepts can be implemented. In addition, compatibility with Huawei module optimizers is provided, enabling string monitoring and yield optimization at the module level. Via EMMA energy management, the system can be expanded with load management and consumption optimization functions.
System expansions- Direct high-voltage storage connection for hybrid operation
- Backup functions can be implemented via SmartGuard components
- Compatible with Huawei module optimizers
- Integration into EMMA energy management possible
