SMA Sunny Tripower X 15

The SMA Sunny Tripower X 15 is a three-phase string inverter for grid-connected commercial photovoltaic systems. With an AC rated power of 15kVA and a maximum DC voltage of 1,000V, it is designed for modern high-voltage string concepts. Three independent MPP trackers enable flexible string design for heterogeneous roof areas. The integrated System Manager handles system communication, monitoring, and grid requirements in accordance with VDE‑AR‑N‑4105:2018‑11. With protection class IP65, the device is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation. The European efficiency of 97.7% supports low-loss operation in the partial-load range. The inverter is part of the SMA Energy System Business and is designed for the integration of multiple devices and system components.

• TechnologyThe inverter operates as a transformerless, three-phase string inverter for grid-parallel operation. The design for 1,000V DC allows long strings and reduces string-side losses. Three MPP trackers support different module orientations or string lengths within one device. The AC rated power of 15,000VA is suited to commercial rooftop systems with medium generator capacity. • ConnectivityDevice communication is carried out via integrated Speedwire as well as Ethernet interfaces. The inverter is directly integrated into SMA monitoring and can monitor multiple devices up to a total output of 135kVA. WLAN is also available and facilitates on-site commissioning. Via the System Manager function, grid feed-in parameters, power limitations, and system states are centrally managed. Communication is designed for professional system operation with remote monitoring.

• WarrantyThe SMA Sunny Tripower X 15 is supplied with a manufacturer’s warranty of five years. This covers material and manufacturing defects during normal operation. Depending on the respective country, the warranty period can optionally be extended to up to 15 or 20 years. For project calculations, the standard warranty is relevant, as it represents the basic coverage for long-term system operation.

The high efficiency reduces operating losses and thus indirectly lowers the cooling and energy requirements of the system. • ExpandabilityThe Sunny Tripower X 15 is designed as a central element in the SMA Energy System Business and can be expanded with optional components. These include, among other things, DC surge protection retrofit kits as well as the integration of additional inverters into the same monitoring system. Thanks to the integrated System Manager, later system expansions can be implemented without additional communication hardware, which is particularly relevant for growing commercial systems.
