Huawei SUN2000-8K-LC0

The Huawei SUN2000‑8K‑LC0 is a single-phase hybrid string inverter for PV systems up to 12kWp and an AC nominal output of 8kW. With three MPP trackers and a wide MPPT operating range of 40 to 560V, it is suitable for complex string layouts and different module orientations. The maximum efficiency of 98.1% and 97.5% European efficiency reduce conversion losses during continuous operation. The device is battery-ready and compatible with Huawei LUNA2000 high-voltage storage systems, including grid-connected and backup operation via SmartGuard components. Extensive protection functions such as AI-supported arc fault detection (AFCI), surge and insulation monitoring as well as IP66 protection enable safe use in demanding installation environments. The compact design at around 14.5kg supports efficient single-person installation.

• TechnologyThe inverter operates as a single-phase hybrid smart energy controller with direct coupling of PV generator, grid and optional high-voltage storage. Three independent MPP trackers with up to 16A input current each enable high design flexibility for module strings and improve yield under partial shading. The nominal DC power is 10kW, and the recommended maximum PV generator power is 12kWp. Natural convection combined with demand-based smart air cooling ensures stable performance even at high ambient temperatures. The integrated AFCI function actively detects arc faults and increases fire protection in DC installations.

Network and Wi-Fi communication are implemented via optional Huawei Smart Dongles, allowing the communication setup to be scaled according to project requirements. Integration into the FusionSolar platform enables commissioning, monitoring and firmware updates via mobile devices or web interfaces. For remote locations, optional 4G connectivity is available, enabling systems without local network infrastructure to be monitored.

• ExpandabilityThe SUN2000‑8K‑LC0 is fully battery-ready and compatible with Huawei LUNA2000 high-voltage storage systems in various capacity levels. In single-phase backup systems, one inverter can manage up to two storage towers. Backup power operation can be implemented via SmartGuard components. In addition, up to three inverters can be operated in parallel within one system, enabling modular expansion of AC power. Support for Huawei power optimizers extends the range of applications on shaded generator surfaces.
