Description

The Fronius Argeno 125 AFCI is a three-phase string inverter for commercial and industrial PV systems with high DC power density. With 125kW AC nominal power, ten MPP trackers, and a maximum DC input voltage of 1,100V, it supports flexible string designs even in complex rooftop or ground-mounted layouts. The European efficiency of 98.7% reduces conversion losses and supports cost-effective long-term yields. The integrated arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) increases DC-side operational safety, particularly in large string fields. Thanks to protection class IP66, fanless design, and the omission of an integrated display, the inverter is designed for permanent outdoor use and minimal maintenance. Integration into grid-parallel operation in accordance with VDE‑AR‑N‑4110 and ‑4105 makes it suitable for demanding grid connection points.

  • TechnologieTechnologyThe Argeno 125 AFCI is based on a transformerless string topology with silicon carbide power electronics, enabling high switching frequencies and low losses. Ten independently controlled MPP trackers allow clean separation of different module arrays and reduce yield losses due to partial shading or varying orientations. The high permissible DC system voltage of 1,100V reduces string currents and cable losses and supports long string lengths. The integrated arc fault detection continuously monitors DC characteristics and interrupts the circuit in the event of dangerous deviations, which is particularly relevant for large generator capacities.

    Power electronics and MPPT concept
    • Ten MPP trackers allow parallel generator fields with different tilts and module technologies
    • 1100‑V DC design reduces line losses and simplifies string layout in large-scale systems
    • AFCI detects DC arc faults at an early stage and reduces fire risks in the generator area
  • KonnektivitätConnectivityEthernet and WLAN interfaces are available for monitoring and system integration. The connection supports both local commissioning and continuous remote monitoring via higher-level monitoring systems. The omission of an integrated display reduces potential weak points in outdoor use; status and service data are provided entirely via digital interfaces. The grid connection design for three-phase operation with high AC power simplifies integration into common connection points of larger commercial installations.

    Communication and monitoring
    • Ethernet and WLAN enable flexible network connectivity during commissioning and operation
    • Digital status queries replace on-site displays and support centralized operations management
  • GarantieWarrantyThe inverter is supplied with a standard warranty of two years. By registering, this period can be extended to five years. For project-specific requirements, there is an optional possibility to extend the warranty coverage to up to 20 years. For operators of larger systems, this allows better planning of service and spare parts costs over the life cycle, depending on the applicable country-specific warranty and service conditions.

    Warranty options
    • 2 years standard factory warranty
    • Extension to 5 years possible after registration
    • Optional extension up to a maximum of 20 years available
  • NachhaltigkeitSustainabilityManufacturing in Europe supports short supply chains and controlled value creation. The high efficiency minimizes ongoing energy losses over the operating lifetime, thereby reducing specific CO₂ emissions per kilowatt-hour generated. WEEE registration ensures that the device can be properly integrated into established disposal and recycling systems at the end of its service life.

    Resources and life cycle
    • High European efficiency reduces conversion losses in continuous operation
    • WEEE-registered for regulated take-back and recycling
  • QualitätQualityThe IP66 enclosure reliably protects the power electronics against dust, moisture, and water jets and allows outdoor installation without additional protective housing. Design in accordance with VDE‑AR‑N‑4105 and VDE‑AR‑N‑4110 ensures compliance with current grid connection guidelines for low- and medium-voltage networks. The integrated DC load break switch supports service-friendly maintenance work and increases safety during interventions in the DC system.

    Mechanical and electrical design
    • IP66 allows permanent outdoor installation even in exposed environments
    • Integrated DC load break switch facilitates safe service work
    • Standards-compliant grid interface for demanding grid connection points
  • ErweiterbarkeitExpandabilityThe modular system architecture of the Argeno portfolio enables project-specific extensions on the AC side, for example through optional connection plates for daisy-chain or multi-core concepts. This allows multiple devices to be efficiently interconnected in larger combined systems without complex custom solutions. The MPPT structure also provides flexibility for later generator expansions within the permissible electrical limits.

    System integration and scaling
    • Optional AC connection solutions facilitate parallel connection of multiple devices
    • Multiple MPPTs allow subsequent adjustments of generator allocation
