Huawei SUN2000-10K-LC0
The Huawei SUN2000‑10K‑LC0 is a single-phase hybrid string inverter (10kW) for PV systems with battery storage option. The DC design supports up to 15,000Wp recommended generator power, three PV inputs and three independent MPP trackers; the MPP operating range is 40–560V (start from 50V), maximum PV input voltage 600V. On the AC side, 10,000W nominal power and 10,000VA maximum apparent power are available, with up to 45.5A output current and adjustable power factor (0.8 capacitive to 0.8 inductive) at ≤3% THD. Protection functions include anti-islanding detection, AFCI/arc fault protection, insulation and residual current monitoring as well as surge protection compatibility (Type II class), supporting standards-compliant system integration. IP66, 425×376.5×150mm and approx. 15kg facilitate installation and site selection.
TechnologyTechnologically, the SUN2000‑10K‑LC0 is designed as a hybrid inverter for PV and high-voltage battery paths and combines three MPPT channels with a power level suitable for single-phase grids. For string planning, the wide MPPT range (40–560V) and the start voltage (50V) are relevant because they also reliably cover short strings or low temperatures. Each MPPT provides up to 16A input current and a 20A short-circuit current limit, enabling the use of modern modules with higher currents. The efficiency values (98.1% max., 97.5% EU) directly affect heat dissipation and annual yield; DC monitoring per PV input supports troubleshooting at string level.
PV and AC performance data- Recommended PV power 15,000Wp; max. DC voltage 600V; nominal DC input 360V.
- 3 PV inputs, 3 MPPT; per MPPT 16A max.; short-circuit current limit 20A.
- AC: 10,000W nominal power, 10,000VA max.; 220/230/240V; up to 45.5A output current.
- Grid quality: power factor 0.8 cap./ind.; THD ≤3% – relevant for requirements at the grid connection point.
ConnectivityFor monitoring, parameterization and energy flow management, the system’s communication paths are crucial: the inverter provides RS485 and can be expanded to Ethernet/WLAN or 4G via optional Smart Dongles. This allows the system to be integrated into FusionSolar monitoring and, if necessary, monitored remotely. For larger topologies, the Smart Dongle WLAN‑FE supports up to 10 devices/inverters, provides 10/100M Ethernet, USB connection, IP65 and WPA/WPA2 security; this is relevant for stable data paths in technical rooms or outdoor installations. In the backup concept, SmartGuard‑63A‑S0 complements communication with LAN/WAN/WLAN and RS485 ports as well as measurement functions (±1% energy accuracy), which are required for load separation and operating mode switching.
Communication & monitoring- Inverter: RS485 integrated; WLAN/Ethernet via Smart Dongle WLAN‑FE (optional); 4G via Smart Dongle‑4G (optional).
- Smart Dongle WLAN‑FE: 10/100M Ethernet, IP65, 2.5W typical, WPA/WPA2; up to 10 devices.
- SmartGuard‑63A‑S0: LAN/WAN 10/100M, WLAN AP mode, RS485×2, digital I/Os; measurement with ±1%.
- EMMA‑A02 (optional): Modbus‑TCP/RS485 integration, LAN/WAN/WLAN, DIN rail; controls up to 3 energy controllers.
WarrantyFor the SUN2000‑10K‑LC0, a product warranty of 120 months is specified in Huawei’s “Limited Product Warranty” for the model group “Smart Energy Controller” SUN2000‑8/10K‑LC0 (the warranty period is defined in the source as starting 180 days after shipment). For project practice, it is also relevant that warranty extensions are offered via the process specified by Huawei (referred to as an external handling route in the IBC portfolio). Processing and serial documentation should therefore be properly maintained in system documentation from the outset, as they are required for RMA processes and service classification.
Warranty scope & handling- Product warranty: 120 months for SUN2000‑8/10K‑LC0 (start defined as 180 days after shipment in the source).
- Warranty extensions are described as an available, official process in the IBC Huawei section.
SustainabilityIn the IBC text module, sustainability is primarily addressed through packaging and circular processes: Huawei reduces the weight and volume of packaging and uses fiber-based materials instead of plastic to improve disposal and material separation. Additionally, a global recycling program is mentioned that aims to recover residual value from electronic waste. For installation companies, this is particularly relevant for logistics (reduced transport volume) and construction site disposal, as packaging streams become more predictable and easier to separate.
Packaging & circular economy- Fiber-based packaging instead of plastic, focusing on improved disposability.
- Global recycling program for recovering valuable materials from electronic waste.
QualityFor quality and operational safety, protection rating, environmental limits and integrated protection functions are decisive. IP66 on the inverter supports outdoor installation and increases tolerance to dust/water jets; the permissible environment ranges from −25°C to +60°C at 0–100% rel. humidity and up to 4,000m altitude (derating above 2,000m). The protection functions cover typical requirements in grid-parallel operation: anti-islanding, DC reverse polarity protection, insulation monitoring, residual current monitoring, overcurrent/overtemperature and short circuit/surge protection as well as arc fault detection (AFCI). For surge protection strategy, it is relevant that DC and AC SPD compatibility is specified to Type II protection class according to EN/IEC61643‑11. The standards basis includes, among others, EN/IEC62109‑1/‑2 (safety) and EN50549‑1 (grid connection).
Protection & environmental conditions- IP66; −25°C to +60°C; 0–100% rel. humidity; 0–4,000m (derating>2,000m).
- Protection functions: anti-islanding, RCMU, insulation monitoring, reverse polarity protection, AFCI/arc fault protection, overcurrent/overtemperature/short circuit/surge protection.

ExpandabilityExpandability lies in the hybrid and ecosystem approach: the inverter is compatible with LUNA2000 storage series (S0 and S1); the battery DC operating range is specified as 350–560V, with up to 25A operating current. For storage performance, the maximum charge/discharge capacities of 10,000W each are relevant, as they determine the backup/load peak strategy. For backup functionality, SmartGuard‑63A‑S0 is specified as the intended solution; switching times ≤20ms and 63A currents for grid and load paths are specified. Additionally, the IBC text lists cascading of up to 3 inverters in one system, enabling expansion of AC power or distribution across multiple devices. For optimized module/string-level yields, compatibility with Huawei optimizers SUN2000‑450W‑P2 and SUN2000‑600W‑P is relevant.
